Mackerel in foil baked in the oven

Today I offer you a recipe for cooking mackerel in foil baked in the oven. Mackerel cooked this way is very tender and juicy when served hot. And if you want a fish that tastes like hot smoked mackerel, then the fish needs to be cooled and served chilled.

Before cooking, the fish must be cleaned of the insides, the blood vessels along the ridge and the black film in the middle of the belly should be removed. If you want to bake mackerel with the head, then you need to remove the gills.

Gills must be removed, besides the fact that they can spoil the taste of the finished fish, they are also poisonous.

Today I stuffed mackerel with onions, carrots and potatoes.

Vegetables give the fish juiciness and absorb excess fat and bitterness. But you can use any herbs and vegetables of your choice.

Products such as rosemary, garlic, thyme, parsley, bell pepper, zucchini can diversify this recipe and add their own zest to it. I also like mackerel cooked with.

When choosing products, you need to consider their compatibility with each other.

Mackerel baked in foil is an easy-to-prepare, quick and inexpensive dish. It goes well with almost any side dish, and when cooled down, the fish not only does not lose its properties, but turns into a very tasty delicacy.

This recipe was shared with me by a wonderful hostess and just a wonderful person Nina Nikiforovna, now I am sharing it with you.

Mackerel should be fresh, as fish that has been stored for a long time can be slightly bitter when cooked.

  3. Grate the mackerel with salt inside and out and let stand for 10-15 minutes. Lubricate the mackerel with mayonnaise or vegetable oil.

Mackerel itself is quite oily fish, so you should not add too much mayonnaise or vegetable oil.

    Pepper with ground black pepper.

  4. We put the fish on the foil and stuff the fish with vegetables, excess vegetables can be laid around the fish.

  5. Wrap the fish in foil, preferably in 2-3 layers.

We put in an oven preheated to 220ºC and bake at 200ºC for 10 minutes. Then bake at 180º-190ºC for 25-35 minutes.

Cooking time and baking temperature may vary depending on your oven.
