Lenten manti with potatoes

Manty is a traditional oriental dish that has become popular and has taken root in many countries. Basically, they are cooked with meat, but the fillings for manti can be very diverse. I offer you a recipe for very tasty lean manti with potatoes, and the added onion and a piece of pumpkin will make them very tasty, juicy and tender.

Prepare food.

Manty is traditionally molded from unleavened dough, which is rolled out very thinly, and so that the dough does not tear, it is better to mix flour of the 1st and 2nd grades. Sift the flour on the table, make a well. Dissolve salt in water and pour into the well, add a spoonful of vegetable oil and gradually stir the flour with water, collecting the dough into a lump.

Knead the dough until completely smooth, it should not stick to your hands. Wrap in cling film and leave to rest for 20 minutes.

While the dough is resting, prepare the manti filling. Forget about the meat grinder, combines, graters, we cut everything only with a knife. Peel and chop onions, they take a lot of onions for manti, as a rule, they make up 50% of the filling. Peel the pumpkin and cut into small cubes with a knife.

Wash potatoes, peel and cut into small cubes.

Combine all chopped vegetables in a deep bowl. Pepper with freshly ground black pepper, if desired, to give the manti an oriental touch, you can add a pinch of zira to the filling, but you should not add salt at the moment so that the vegetable filling does not give juice. It is better to add salt just before sculpting manti.

The dough has aged, the filling is ready, you can proceed to the manti. Roll out the dough into a tourniquet and cut into pieces the size of a walnut, roll each piece thinly into a cake.

Put a tablespoon of potato filling on the juices and sprinkle with salt, pinch the manti in a convenient way.

Lubricate the grate of the double boiler / pressure cooker with vegetable oil and lay out the manti. There is another option that I like better, you need to pour a little vegetable oil into a saucer, dip the manti and then put it on the grill. After such a procedure, manti never stick to the grate. Cook manti for a couple of 30 minutes.

Sprinkle ready-made manti with herbs, serve with tomato sauce. Lenten manti with potatoes are very tasty!

Bon appetit!
