Chicken with cabbage in a slow cooker

Braised chicken with cabbage is cooked in a slow cooker with carrots and bell peppers. Vegetables and meat are stewed with tomato sauce without potatoes, which will allow you to include the dish in a weight loss diet.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken or domestic chicken - 1 kg;
  • Cabbage - 1 small fork (I had a quarter of a large fork);
  • Carrots - 3 pcs.;
  • Onion - 4 pcs.;
  • Bulgarian pepper (frozen / fresh) - 300 gr. / 1-2 pieces;
  • Greens (dill, parsley) - 1 bunch each;
  • Ketchup - 6 tbsp. l.;
  • Fresh tomato - 1 pc. (to decorate the dish);
  • Vegetable oil - 30 ml.;
  • Salt, black pepper - to taste;
  • Bay leaf - 3 pcs.;
  • Water - 100 ml.

Cooking process:

Wash chicken or chicken meat thoroughly, cut into portioned pieces (I also removed the skin from the carcass). Salt, pepper to taste and let it soak a little.

Add vegetable oil to the multicooker form, add chopped onions, carrots, bell peppers and chopped cabbage - salt and pepper to taste.

I got cabbage almost full form.

We put the bowl in the slow cooker, set the “pilaf” mode and let the vegetables soften a little - about 30 minutes.

Open the slow cooker, add ketchup, mix well.

Put the chicken pieces on top of the cabbage, drown in the sauce,

sprinkle with a little greens, add bay leaf, then set the “pilaf” mode again (first) and simmer the chicken until cooked.

Homemade chicken cooks a little longer than a carcass from the store. Therefore, if you are cooking a store-bought chicken, it will take only 30-40 minutes, since the cabbage has already been brought almost to readiness. Domestic chicken can be kept in a slow cooker for 1 hour. It will not fall apart, and the pieces will remain intact.

About 5 minutes before readiness, cut the greens and add to the cabbage.

Cover with a lid and wait for a signal of readiness.

We will serve stewed chicken with cabbage in portions, decorating the dish with fresh tomatoes.

If desired, you can also add fresh herbs, and you can also open a jar of home preservation.

Enjoy your meal!
