Recently, my mother and I discussed family recipes, and she suddenly remembered how, as a child, I loved my grandmother's lush whites, which she cooked for us in a pan according to her own recipe from kefir dough and without adding yeast. I was quite surprised because I don't remember it at all. However, the thought, as they say, stuck in my head, and I began to delve into my grandmother's notebook again and - oh, a miracle! Indeed, on the most worn page there was a recipe for good old and kind lazy whites, which remained forever in the memory of everyone who lived in the USSR.

Grandmother was a great craftswoman and knew how to write a recipe so that even a child could make these beautiful and tasty products. Today I will share with you her experience in this area, so that you can easily prepare this wonderful example of Soviet cuisine for yourself and your children.

Did you know? It turns out that belyash is one of the most common dishes in Russia. It is prepared not only with meat, but also with chopped potatoes, cabbage or rice, and in Tatarstan they also use millet as a filling.

You will need

The basis:

Did you know? The proposed recipe does not provide for the use of fat-free kefir, so pick it up in the range from 3% to 9% fat. In addition, baking soda can be replaced with baking powder for dough, just add less, about 6 g.

Additionally:

  • 25 ml sunflower oil;
  • 6 g black ground pepper;
  • 30 g fresh herbs (parsley, cilantro, dill).

Important! Since according to this recipe we are preparing not ordinary, but lazy whites, it would be unacceptable to use yeast starter in the process, to which it would be impossible to add additional spices. Moreover, in addition to ground black pepper, dried basil, ground garlic, curry or marjoram can be added to the dough.

The second stage of preparation

Made! Your amazingly delicious lazy whites are completely ready! You can serve them right away, but it's best to decorate your little ones further, depending on personal preference.

For example, sometimes I just sprinkle my own whites with herbs or ground black pepper, and sometimes I still prepare a great decoration: I mix one part of sour cream with two parts of mayonnaise, add my favorite seasoning with salt and cover the finished whites with the resulting mixture. It looks very appetizing, so give it a try. If you have your own way of decorating whites, share it with me!

Did you know? Lazy whites can be easily fried in a slow cooker, as this amazing device is literally made to do this job on its own. The prepared kefir dough with minced meat is fried in the multicooker bowl quickly enough, and as a result, the whites perfectly retain their shape and do not burn at all.
