OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF THE GEYSER COFFEE MAKER
To prepare coffee in a geyser coffee maker, you only need water, ground coffee and a heating surface. The saturated steam pressure forces the water through the filter funnel. Hot water passes through the ground coffee. The water starts to boil only at the end of the preparation, when most of the coffee has already been prepared. The seal ensures the safety of the threaded fastening, and the safety valve prevents excessive pressure build-up in the chamber.
COMPONENTS OF A GEYSER COFFEE MAKER AND THE PREPARATION PROCESS
- Fill the lower part (1) up to the safety valve (6) with clean drinking water,
- Insert the funnel filter (2) and fill it with ground coffee without tamping. Use medium to coarse ground coffee. The coffee strength can be adjusted by the amount of ground coffee poured into the funnel filter.
- Make sure the filter plate and gasket fit into their respective slots, then screw the top part (3) to the bottom part (1) tightly.
- Put the coffee maker on medium heat and wait until the coffee starts to flow out (after about 4 minutes) from the column (4).
- When the coffee fills the top container (3), remove the coffee maker from the heat. Do not touch the hot surface of the coffee maker, use the handle.
- Do not use various extracts, as they can clog the filter of the coffee maker.
- Regularly check the condition of the coffee maker by changing the wear parts to be replaced (2, 5).
- Before using the coffee maker, check that the valve and all internal components are present and correctly installed.
- Do not tamp the coffee in the filter.
- Use soap and water to clean the coffee maker; other detergents may damage the aluminum surface.
- Liquid detergents for metals may be used to maintain the gloss.
